The group were met by professional guides and fleet of executive coaches and escorted from Dublin Airport to Powerscourt Hotel. The afternoon’s activity included a leisurely scenic walk around the exquisite Powerscourt House and Gardens. The evening was hosted exclusively in McGill’s pub where guests were treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner with an array of artisan dishes serving the finest local produce whilst being entertained by a traditional Irish musician who stirred up a jolly ‘sing-a-long’ with all the guests.
The group travelled by executive coaches, accompanied with multilingual guides to Ballyknocken House in County Wicklow where they arrived to a welcoming ‘Sheepherders Feast Lunch’ in the Barn featured with a rustic theme of Bales of Hay and Market stalls and heaters to ensure the group were cosy.
Afternoon: Irish Style Pastimes!
The group split into 4 teams and enthusiastically participated in rotation the following activities;
The afternoon activities concluded with the group gathered back in the bar to participate in an Irish Coffee making class held by Catherine Fulvio who delighted in regaling the history of the Irish Coffee whilst teaching the art of perfecting an Irish Coffee with Irish whiskey.
Guests were transferred via executive coaches and guides to the DoubleTree hotel in Dublin. On route additional surprise passengers joined the coaches, 2 hitchhikers performed a variety of Irish musical entertainment and ensured all participated in singing and the frivolity on board.
Following lunch at a traditional Irish pub Nancy Hands in Dublin city centre, the group split into two and transferred by executive coach to participate in two activities;
Guinness Storehouse: The afternoon was enjoyed visiting the most sought after Irish tourist attraction a visit to Guinness Storehouse where a guided tour was provided and the group had a chance to take part in ‘Pull your own pint’ and afterwards got to unwind and sample a drink from the exquisite view of the ‘Gravity Bar’ overlooking Dublin City
Dublin Bike Tour: This activity involved a guided relaxing cycle around the scenic Phoenix Park encountering the various natural wildlife residing in the area.
Evening transfer by executive coach with accompanying guides to Ely Bar and Brasserie CHQ, located on the north side of the river. This restaurant is housed in a 200-year-old tobacco and wine warehouse. The group enjoyed a relaxed evening being served a 3 course meal reflecting the best seasonal Irish produce and delighting in the array of wines available from their extensive collection.
The excited group eagerly departed the hotel by executive coaches and escorted by guides to Christchurch Cathedral where they were seated in the best viewing point from the exclusive ‘Grand Stand’ for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The group embraced the electric atmosphere and up close visuals of the procession including the vibrant floats, colourful dancers and encapsulating bands.
The group, escorted by the guides walked to the lunch venue. Café en Seine is a Parisian style chic restaurant which hosted the group in an exclusive area to a 3 course St. Patricks Day lunch (traditional Irish dishes i.e. Irish Stew) and drinks. The entertainment provided by traditional Irish musicians in keeping with the St. Patrick’s Day theme provide a vibrant atmosphere and chance for guests to jointly celebrate with Irish nationals the most celebrated Saints day in the world!
Following the executive coach transfer with escorted guides from the hotel to Croke Park, the group participated in the Skyline tour and ascended to the roof of Croke Park, an exciting experience feared and conquered by all! Following their descent the group visited the museum to gain an insight into our national sports and try first hand Gaelic Football and Hurling. Following the groups interactive activities they delighted in a well-deserved drink followed by a magnificent 3 course fine dining experience in the ‘All Star Suite’ overlooking the ‘hallowed’ pitch and stadium of Croke Park. After the meal the group certainly made the most of their last night embracing the opportunity to dance to the vibrant musical repertoire played by the Irish House Party. The group were encapsulated especially by each musician’s ability to play instruments that are indigenous to Ireland; Bodhran drum and Uilleann pipes
